On March 8 th , 2020, the grand Holi festival was celebrated at Harisumiran Mandir. Holi commemorates the day Bhagwan Vishnu saved devout devotee, Prahlad, from being burned alive by his aunt Holika, thus symbolizing how Bhagwan is always protecting his devotees. In the Swaminarayan Sampraday, Holi marks the birthday of Bhagatji Maharaj, who was Gunatitanand Swami’s ideal devotee.
Youths performed a drama highlighting Bhagatji Maharaj’s eagerness to attain spiritual wisdom, his unwavering faith in his Guru, Gunatitanand Swami, and how to do seva according to Gunatitanand Swami’s anuvrutti. There was an engaging and devotional kirtan aradhana performed by the bhajan mandal. Then a video of Guruhari Hariprasad Swamiji giving a spiritual discourse was shown. In the discourse, Swamiji talked about how Bhagwan will not let anything harm His devotee and by striving to become a true devotee of Bhagwan, He will always be with us. The Holi festival concluded with aarti and mahaprasad for all devotees in attendance.
